FOUR-STROKE CYCLE


Second stroke (compression stroke). The heavy flywheel continues to rotate. The piston, connected to the flywheel via the connecting rod and crankshaft, rises in the cylinder. Both valves are closed, so the fuel/air is compressed by the rising piston.
